Two new guided walking holidays in the Scottish Highlands

These guided walking holidays are a simple way to meet up with fellow hillwalkers, and to enjoy the hills with a qualified and experienced walking guide.

For 2026 we’ve teamed up with our sister company ‘Team Tortoise’ to offer these Scottish Highlands breaks, which means that on any holiday you could have either Graham Uney or Sharon Kennedy (from Team Tortoise) as your guide.

Each holiday is based around a town or village giving you the freedom to select your own accommodation. There will be a range of B&Bs, guesthouses, a hotel or two, and a campsite, and some will have a youth hostel or bunkhouse too, giving you the choice of where to stay. Some days we'll just walk directly from the place we're staying, but if not we'll use buses where possible, or perhaps car share if we want to travel somewhere more remote or further afield.

There's no fixed programme for any of these holidays - we simply go out into the hills with the intention of enjoying the local Munros, Corbetts, Grahams, or perhaps a pleasant stravaig up a glen or into an ancient woodland. The weather will dictate where we go to some extent.

All you will pay us for this is a 'guiding fee' per person. So check out what the dates are for these guided walking holidays in 2026, then get in touch to book yourselves in. Group bookings are also very welcome, and if there's more than four of you we might be able to accommodate you on other dates too!

Exploring the Hills and Glens of Braemar

May 25th - 29th 2026. £250 per person

There are so many superb walks in the Braemar area. We’ll meet up on the first morning for a quick chat over coffee and make a plan for the week, but likely walks (and the possibilities are endless!) might include the Munros either side of the Cairnwell Pass, Lochnagar, An Socach, Carn Bhac, or Carn a’ Mhaim, while the woodlands around Linn of Dee and Linn of Quoich offer some of the most beautiful examples of ancient Caledonian pine forest in Scotland. There are lots of good accommodation options in Braemar too, and we’ll send a recommended list when you book.

Discover the Trossachs

September 12th - 16th 2026. £250 per person

The Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park is the closest to the cities of the Central Belt - Glasgow and Edinburgh, so gives easy access to anyone wanting to enjoy the mountains and glens in this area. We’ll be based in the town of Callander so there are lots of great accommodation options, and after a quick chat over coffee on day one we’ll make a plan to include a variety of mountain and glen walks during the five days. There are iconic Munros to tackle, as well as stunning walks along rivers and loch sides.
