Nepal Expedition - Khumbu Mountaineer
Three Peaks and Three Passes
A truly unique and exciting way to explore the Khumbu region of Nepal. We have combined the world famous high altitude trek - the Khumbu Three Passes - with a handful of acclimatisation peaks culminating in not one, not two, but three separate high altitude mountains (known as Trekking Peaks in Nepal). We will of course enjoy Sherpa hospitality throughout, and will have as our local guiding team some of the most experienced high altitude Sherpas in the world, including Nima Kanchha Sherpa (Nima has guided clients on countless mountaineering expeditions including several successful Everest ascents, as well as Cho-Oyu, Manaslu, Makalu, Ama Dablam and many more. Nima also appears in the Guinness Book of World Records twice for more unusual feats - the world’s highest dinner party (full tuxedos on Everest!), and the world’s highest bike ride - down a 7000m peak in the Dolpo region of Nepal!).
Highlights include:
Trek the Three Passes Route - Renjo La (5345m), Cho La (5420m), and Kongma La (5535m)
Acclimatise on Sumdur Peak above the village of Thame (4500m)
Another superb acclimatisation peak on Gokyo Ri (5357m)
A third acclimatisation peak on Kalapattar (5545m)
Attempt the trekking peak Lobuche East (6119m)
Attempt the trekking peak Pokalde (5806m)
Attempt the trekking peak Island Peak aka Imja Tse (6189m)
April 1st - May 1st 2028
Arriving in Kathmandu on April 2nd, and departing for home on April 30th, 2028
£6990 per person - land only price (6 places available)
This is a fully supported expedition, based mainly in lodges throughout the trekking phase, but camping in tents on each of the three trekking peaks. The cost includes in-country transport and flights, guiding throughout, food throughout excluding lunches and dinners in Kathmandu, all group camping equipment, and hotel nights in Kathmandu at the start and end of the expedition.
Not included are international flights, your personal climbing and camping equipment, insurance suitable for 6000m Himalayan mountains, tips for staff and guides, additional drinks (including all alcohol), and lunches and dinners while in Kathmandu.
This expedition is suitable for any fit mountain walker with basic winter skills (ice axe and crampon use on Scottish Munros). The peaks are relatively non-technical, but will require the use of jumars for ascending, and abseil devices for descending. Some knowledge of using fixed ropes is an advantage - contact Graham Uney in advance (below) if you aren’t sure about your suitability for this expedition.
